i am on the couch before work
these are my favorite moments
away from the office
i like the idea of growing,
but i miss the old me.
i miss driving through oklahoma sunsets
hot and sticky virginian summer mornings
i miss new york’s wind and texas highways.
but europe is romantic
and the weekends make it
so i am staying here a while
aching for a drip black american coffee
and placid counter conversations
