I used to really struggle to decide how I wanted to keep track of my goals. I have tried journaling, the Notes app, texting friends, post it notes on the mirror… at the end of the day I am simply holding on to the intention rather than the method. New Years goals have always had a grip over me. Please see below as its listed in my journal:
- Graduate Ranger School in March
- Graduate Airborne, WOBC, and SERE
- Max the AFT
- Final century ride in Germany
- Finish building the coaster brake bike
- Start training for the TD 2027
- Start teaching at a local yoga studio in AL
- Press from crow to headstand
- Practice 20 minutes a day – consistency on the mat
- Ski and Board one more time before PCS’ing
- Learn to juggle
- Harmonica practice: play and memorize 3 songs
- Actively use/write on blog this year… minimum of 1 per week when NOT in Army related schools
- Read 15 books. Audiobooks don’t count towards the total!
- Build community – invite friends over for dinner at least three separate times
- Spend 5 nights outside bikepacking or hiking
- Invest in weekly French classes when not in school (start with Italki… can adjust from there)
- Write and mail happy birthday cards to your friends
- 20 minutes of social media a day (using Jumo app as of 31DEC2025)
- Bring camera with you for rides –> more capturing moments from bike
- 1 mile time trial… all out. goal: sub 6
- 15 pull ups in a row
- 1 muscle up
- Run a trail 50k
- Pay off cow loan
- Create and commit to budget for new WO Salary
