I have grand goals for the morning, but its so hard to get up for them! I am the most productive and inspired at the bookends of the day, so I stayed up late and worked on my proposal. This is the kind of writing where Chat GPT feels tempting, but whatever it delivers feels inauthentic to the words that you are working on, so its better just to hammer words out and hope the (human-based) editing will be enough for the reviewers. My Grant Proposal includes riding my bike to all 51 National Parks (do we capitalize the N and P?) while conducting community based Century Rides at each location all from June 1st of 2026 through September 1st of 2027.
Why? So many reasons, and reasons I’ll likely post on here shortly, as I work through my own paragraphs of ‘why should Nat Geo support this’ hah! I’m no Stanford educated Journalist or lifelong photographer, but I know I can tell this story. For now, that has to be enough (for me) just to apply.
photo: reminds me of a 70’s table? but maybe its just the light wood and warm light accented by a spool of periwinkle thread in the corner. But Hannah showed me how to angle the camera to work with the reflection off the coffee, so a win for the morning photography club!
pieces of the morning i’d like more of in my life
- morning runs with sunrise (instead of trainer based bikes)
- bringing my camera outside for early sunlight
- journaling in the morning
- 30-45 minutes of yoga (pre run)
- 3 cups of coffee, but less jittery after affects, please
I think this is all doable with a little more self-discipline and making my alarm less snooze-worthy, because what is our day without sunrise?
