from saturday to monday
There’s (ideally) some growth that happens when we take on something uncomfortable So, for the next 90 days, I am committed to a picture every day. I’ve been aching for a year long challenge, but all of January I couldn’t find what I needed – whether creatively or physically. These pictures don’t have to be particularly important, beautiful or meaningful, but it has to BE something to me. I love when I see something I can improve, whether its over an afternoon or months… I have a feeling like this will be for a longer ride…
For today
- Switched to Hannah’s Fe 1.8/50. Apparently this is a lovely switch, lower F-stop allows for stronger subject focus.
- I learned that I was controlling my aperture instead of my ISO on saturday (which is actually so funny because I adjusted this many times… and snow and sun creates quite the LIGHT) Aperture is the amount of light your lens allows in… but your ISO looks at how sensitive your camera is to light. If you were to ask me to explain this in another way, I wouldn’t be able to. So, maybe this is a learning point i’ll be better able to describe in a few months.
- Top gallery are my difference in pictures from today, 10 FEB 2025, and my model, Ida, graciously lent me her evening post walk.
- Bottom gallery are my “six gallery pictures” that were so graciously taught in a clinic, in which I was mercilessly humbled and just wished I was 1. fluent in french, 2. a pro level skier, 3. a somewhat decent photographer
